The search results are displayed, in paginated format, in the center of the screen. The following criteria are used to define the importance of documents displayed in the list of results: Documents where the text sought features in the document identifying data. Documents where the text sought features in the Pharmacogenetics section. Documents with pharmacogenetics. The remaining documents. Actions relating to the search for information in the portal are itemized below.
Generic Search
The generic search produces the documents containing any text entered in the search filter. To carry out a search, simply enter a text in the search filter and press the “search” button.

To view the results found in the different types of document, the “Show Results in Genes or Drugs documents” option may be used. On clicking on one of the options, the corresponding documents are displayed. To access the document, simply click on the name of the document in the results list. A dialog box will be displayed, wherein the user may select each of the different sections featured in the “Genes” and “Drugs” documents. Once the sections to be searched are marked, press the “Search” button to search by sections.
Filtered Search
Another method of performing a search is by filtered terms. This enables a search for particular terms existing in the Guide and stored in the system.
The terms used in the searches will be Genes, Drugs and Diseases.
When a term is entered in one of the filter boxes, the terms accepted by the other two will be automatically updated, only accepting values which are effectively related within the system. For example, this will enable the user to find a particular disease starting from a related gene or drug. To facilitate the entering of these terms, the system will provide auto-completion of the values, starting from the third character entered.
